TRURO – During the month of February, the Colchester Historical Society hosts its annual evening in celebration of the work of Colchester history enthusiasts.

Continuing the change in emphasis introduced in 2017, the event is a celebration of heritage projects focused on Colchester history, rather than a series of awards in specific categories.

The purpose of the event, which is held during Heritage Month across Canada, is to honour individuals or groups for making a substantial contribution to heritage preservation and education within Colchester County.

Recognition is given for any work of heritage, including, but is not limited to: written work, built heritage, the visual arts with a heritage related theme, or musical creation or presentation.

The nomination period is open until Feb. 1, 2019, for completed work in the 2018 calendar year. Nominations for ‘lifetime achievement’ will also be considered.

Forms are available at the Colchester Historeum front desk, and for download from the Historeum website.
