Truro's civic square.

TRURODowntown Truro is making July 22 all about the kids with a fun day full of kid-friendly activities, demonstrations, and positive energy at civic square.

“We are looking for ways to create fun, family friendly events, while also highlighting the talent that exists in the Downtown Truro shops and businesses”, said Sam Madore, executive director of the Downtown Truro Partnership. “Artist Jen Power, who can often be found at Enchanted Forest on Inglis Place, will be hosting a free, walk-up art class for kids at ten in the morning. We will also have demonstrations by Truro Allstar Cheer and Tumble, a hip hop workshop by Cobequid Dance Academy and more.”

There will be lots of fun for the kids, including free face painting and balloon animals sponsored by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colchester, yard games provided by Alderberry Village, popcorn samples from MacQuarries Pharmasave and free pony rides.

“As always, we also encourage everyone to check out all of the shops while they are visiting Downtown Truro,” said Madore. “We hope families will choose to make a day of it and enjoy the food, shopping and activities all throughout the downtown core.”

Downtown Truro’s fun day will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Truro’s civic square. For the full list of exciting activities, find the event on Downtown Truro’s Facebook page.
