LOWER TRURO – A 26-year-old man is set to appear in court after another man sustained minor injuries after being dragged by a vehicle in the early morning hours of Aug. 25.
At approximately 1 a.m., Colchester District RCMP responded to a two-vehicle collision on Robie Street in Lower Truro. The initial investigation has determined one vehicle struck another vehicle from behind. When the driver of the vehicle that was hit stepped out to speak with the other driver, the suspect vehicle drove towards him, hit him, then dragged him a short distance. The suspect vehicle then fled from the scene.
The driver who was hit was transported by paramedics to Colchester East Hants Health Centre with minor injuries. The suspect vehicle was later located by Colchester District RCMP and the driver was arrested. A 26-year-old man from Bible Hill is scheduled to appear in Truro provincial court on Aug. 28. He is facing charges of failing to stop at an accident, dangerous driving, assault with a weapon, refusal to provide a breath sample and impaired driving.
The investigation is ongoing.
