CENTRAL NORTH RIVER – A woman suffered serious injuries after being struck by a car while she was bicycling Friday morning.
At approximately 6:30 a.m. July 20, a cyclist was involved in a collision with a motor vehicle on Hwy. 311, just south of Upper Brookside Road. She suffered serious injuries and was transported to hospital, then sent via LifeFlight for further medical treatment in Halifax.
The driver of the car was not injured. An RCMP Collision Analyst was called to the scene to assist with the investigation.
Highway 311 and Upper Brookside Road were closed to traffic for several hours while police examined the scene for evidence. The area has since been re-opened to traffic.
