UPPER ECONOMY – A 53-year-old woman from Londonderry died in a two-vehicle crash in Upper Economy on April 23.
Just before 5:30 p.m., an antique car travelling east on Highway 2 swerved, striking a pickup truck that had been travelling west. The female passenger of the antique vehicle was ejected and died at the scene.
The man driving the antique car suffered serious injuries and was transported to hospital via LifeFlight. The driver of the pickup truck was not injured.
An RCMP Collision Analyst was called to assist with the investigation. Highway 2 was closed for several hours but has since been re-opened. The investigation is ongoing.
