BIBLE HILL – A 25-year-old Bible Hill man is to return to court on June 11 after being charged following an armed robbery with a firearm.

On June 3 just before 9 p.m., Colchester District RCMP responded to a call of an armed robbery with a firearm at a coffee shop on Main Street in Bible Hill.

Two employees were in the store when the suspect entered, pointed a gun at them, screamed at them to put money in a duffle bag, and knocked a till over. The suspect fled the store on foot.

The employees then called 911.

Colchester District RCMP responded and requested the Truro Police Service K9 unit for assistance.

In total, one man and three women were arrested in connection with the robbery. Two females were released without charges, while the third female and male were held in custody overnight. The female was released in the morning, while the male was charged and taken to Truro provincial court on June 4.

Colby Devon McMaster has been charged with robbery and wearing a mask while committing an indictable offence.

On June 4, Colchester District RCMP, with assistance from an RCMP Police Dog team, searched the area and located some money and a handgun. A home on Main Street was also searched, and evidence of the robbery was recovered.

The investigation is ongoing.
