TRURO – A male employee at Via Rail suffered life-threatening injuries after making contact with a train on Nov. 23.
At approximately 2:50 p.m., the Truro Police Service (TPS) responded to a railway accident at the Via Rail station in downtown Truro.
A Via Rail passenger train was slowing at the train station and a male employee came in contact with the train suffering life threatening injuries.
A Truro Police officer was on foot patrol in the area and arrived within seconds of the incident. A second officer arrived almost immediately and they were able to provide life-saving first aid to the victim.
The victim was taken to hospital in Halifax with life-threatening injuries.
The scene has been secured by TPS with CN Police and the Department of Labour investigating.
