ONSLOW MOUNTAIN – A 35-year-old man is facing number charges following a stand-off with police on May 13.

At approximately 4:11 a.m. May 13, members with the Colchester District RCMP responded to a report of a 35-year-old male armed with a firearm. The man had barricaded himself at a residence on Onslow Mountain Road in Onslow Mountain.

More than eight hours after the initial call, the man exited the residence just after 12:40 p.m. He was arrested without incident.

There were no injuries as a result of the incident or any risk to the public. The RCMP had the road closed, and had assistance from the RCMP Emergency Response Team.

The man remained in police custody and was expected to appear in court on May 14.
