TRURO HEIGHTS – Like others in the province, many residents in Colchester County remain without power following a winter storm that came with extremely high winds.

Power crews, including those from Hydro Quebec, can be found in all places throughout the province, including the Tidal Bore Road in Lower Truro.

New poles were installed after at least one snapped in pieces and lines were down across the road and pedestrian walkway.

Along with residents, a number of businesses are also without power, including Walmart and the Rath Eastlink Community Centre.

Nova Scotia Power’s outage map gives an estimated restoration time of 11:30 p.m. Saturday.
