STEWIACKE – Rhubarb will be the name of the game as the Town of Stewiacke hosts the 12th annual Ravenous Rhubarb Festival.

The festival is chock-full of events June 7 to 9, with the schedule below.

June 7

  • 6-9 p.m., Whistlers Pub – A Rhubarb Jam, featuring Johnny & Jamie, Vince Smith, Larry Rhindress, Jim Brown, Eric Bowers, Darren Howes, Pat Hickey and Charlie Leights; collecting donations for the Shumilacke food bank

June 8

  • 8-10 a.m. – Breakfast at the Stewiacke Legion
  • 10 a.m. – Rhubarb Muffin Baking Contest at the Stewiacke Foodland – rules and entry forms can be picked up at Foodland
  • 11 a.m.-1 p.m. – Air, Sea and Animals…….What’s happening at the community centre? Go check it out.
  • 1:30 p.m. – Put on your apron and whip up something incredible at the amazing chef contest at the Stewiacke Library (school aged children)
  • 4-6 p.m. – Stewiacke Baptist Church is hosting their annual Ham and Salad Supper with rhubarb desserts – $12 per adult, 6-12 $5, and under 5 free.
  • 9 p.m. – Karaoke at Whistlers.

June 9 

  • 9 a.m.-3 p.m. – 12th Annual Flaunt and Flash Car Show at Mastodon Ridge.  Come early and enjoy the wide variety of cars on display. 
  • 4:30-6:30 p.m. – Rhubarb-themed Dinner at the Legion. Proceeds to the “Barking Lot” Dog Park.
