DEBERT – Two men, one brandishing a firearm, robbed a convenience store in Debert Tuesday night.

At approximately 8:50 p.m., the Colchester RCMP received a call of the armed robbery in progress at the store near Plains Road. Two men entered the store and demanded money, cigarettes and lottery tickets. The two female employees attempted to stop the men from stealing and were assaulted by the culprits.

The men fled the store with a quantity of money.

The two employees suffered minor injuries in the incident, however did not require hospitalization.

The suspects are described as Caucasian who were wearing dark clothing and gloves. They covered their faces/heads with bandanas and toques. One man wore sunglasses.

One of the men is described as approximately 5’10” to 6’2”, with a thin build and round face, while the other is described as 5’7” to 5’10” with a heavier build.

The suspects are believed to have fled the area in a newer model blue Ford Focus. The car did not have a license plate.
