TRURO – Anthony James is a world medalist.

James, a 25-year-old Truro native, is bringing home a silver medal from the Special Olympics World Games 2019 in the United Arab Emirates.

Janice Milton, James’ local coach, said the athlete won silver as part of Canada’s men’s 4x100m relay team.

He also earned new personal best times with his fifth place finish in the 200m, and fourth place finish in the 100m. James missed out on third place by 15/100 of a second.

Before he left for worlds, the athlete with Special Olympics Cobequid said he was going to bring home a medal from the competition, and it didn’t matter its colour.
