TRURO – The largest annual fundraiser in support of the ALS Society of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia is making its way to Truro.

ALS Walk Strong will begin at Victoria Park at 10 a.m. (registration) on Sept. 9, with the walk beginning at 11 a.m.

The funds raised from nine ALS Walk Strong events will go directly to support New Brunswickers and Nova Scotians living with ALS and their families. This includes support and services such as the Equipment Loans Program, education, emotional support, and advocacy. On average, people with ALS borrow $70,000 worth of expensive medical equipment at no cost. This includes equipment such as breathing machines, power wheel chairs and hospital beds.

The ALS Society of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia is a non-profit organization not funded by the government. The society is committed to helping people living with ALS and their families as they navigate a very difficult and ultimately fatal disease. The society’s vision is to help make it possible for people to live their best lives in the face of an ALS diagnosis.
