TRURO – The Truro Tennis Club hosted its annual Class A/Open tournament last month.

This tournament was a Tennis Nova Scotia-sanctioned event, featuring players from all over the province.

Truro’s own Nigel Power captured the Class A title with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Rob Poole. Power advanced to the final with a dramatic three set win over P.E.I.’s Neil Moore, 2-6, 6-3, 6-3.

The Open division title was won by Halifax’s Glenn Hubbard, who defeated Truro’s Leif Power in the final 6-1, 6-1. Power had a big 6-3, 6-1 win over Moore in the semifinals to advance.

In the doubles division, the final featured an all-Truro matchup, with Munish Anand and Don Cameron beating Nigel Power and Jeff Mantin 6-1, 6-2.

The club would like to thank Tennis Nova Scotia for their help in organizing the event, as well as Subway for their generous sponsorship.
